About Nadine Rippelmeyer
My inspiration comes primarily from my faith. In addition, my family: husband Drake, sons Isaac and Josiah, and daughter Elise provide tremendous support and encouragement. I also find that I use my background in dance, nursing, music, and theater to more fully explore each subject that I paint. Having traveled and lived in South America, Asia, and Europe, I delight in varied landscapes, cultures, and people. My life experience is varied: I've worked in Cambodian refugee camps with the United Nations, worked for Johns Hopkins on the White Mountain Indian Reservation, been an NICU and OB nurse, practiced dance therapy at a state hospital, and taught many things: piano, ballet, public health, English, and more. I believe that we are gifted in many areas...and that many disciplines "cross over". Although I now teach many mediums, I most enjoy working with water based media and pencil and more recently photography. Even though mostly self-taught, I voraciously read art journals, magazines, and books gathering new ideas at every turn! I currently sell to clients nationwide and overseas. In 2008-2009, my work was shown in Fort Lauderdale, New York, and Northwest Arkansas. I painted live at The New York Art Expo in February and March of 2009. Frequently painting live for many galas, openings, events and church services, I find that people tend to bond with the pieces as they are created. I enjoy the performance aspect of this and interacting with the people who are curious as to how pieces are "born". In September of 2009, I was the featured artist for a new show entitled Perceptions of Reality at Ico Gallery Chelsea in Manhattan. In addition, I was the featured artist for the "Bal de Moulin Rouge" Show at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in New York, New York on November 12, 2009. In 2010, I opened The Art Location (www.theartlocation.com) in Fayetteville, AR. I teach painting, texture, and art marketing workshops nationwide. In 2014, I began teaching art educator workshops. My goal is to energize the educators and to introduce innovative creative techniques in the classroom.
